I am Matias Köhler, an evolutionary biologist best defined as Botanist. I hold a Master's and a PhD in Botany, and I am currently an Associate Professor at the Universidade Federal da Fronteira Sul, in Rio Grande do Sul, south of Brazil. My research focuses on the evolutionary relationships of plants using molecular phylogenetic methods, as well as morphological, cytological, and ecological data to address questions related to biogeographic history, community assembly, diversification, morphologic and genomic evolution, species origins, and species boundaries within groups.
