I am Matias Köhler, an evolutionary biologist best defined as Botanist. I hold a Master's and a PhD in Botany, and I am currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, in Brazil with Dr. Marcelo Reginato. My research focuses on the evolutionary relationships of plants using molecular phylogenetic methods, as well as morphology and cytology, addressing questions related to biogeographic history, community assemblage, morphological and genome evolution, species origin, and species boundaries within groups.
